Summary C2E (Chat to Email) links a PaT chat with email. This module shows what happens to the three main types of attachment, a screenshot, a file and a link, when they are sent from Chat to Email, and when an email reply brings them back into Chat. From Chat to Email, all three come through. From Email back to Chat, screenshots and files come through as attachments, but links do not.
Steps
Step 1
Open the chat on your Chat Wall. The comment box is in the middle of the screen, and the chat's messages are on the right. In the row of people at the top of the comment box, the email contact shows as a blue envelope icon.
From Chat to Email
Step 2
Paste a screenshot straight into the text area of the comment box.
Step 3
Add a document file with the box under the text area, Drop your file(s) here or click to add one!: drop the file onto it, or click it and choose the file.
Step 4
Paste a link into the text area. A screenshot, a file and a link are the three main types of attachment people use in C2E.
Step 5
Click send comment, at the bottom right of the comment box.
Step 6
The message goes out as an email. In the email, the screenshot shows correctly, the file is attached and opens, and the link is there: all three come through from Chat to Email.

Step 7
In your email, reply to that same email thread. Add a screenshot, attach a file and paste a link, then send the reply.
Step 8
The reply appears in the chat with the envelope icon beside it. The file comes through and shows at the bottom of the message. The screenshot does not show inside the message: in its place, a line says the email had an attachment and gives the image's file name.
Step 9
Click Attachments, at the top right of the chat, next to Chat. The Files panel opens on the right. It lists the screenshot and the file that came back from the email.
Result. The link does not come through into the chat: links sent by email are not currently supported for return into chat. In short, screenshots and files work both ways, while links work only from Chat to Email.
