Summary A safe walk is a planned or unplanned site safety inspection, recorded on a paper form. Once the form is filled in, you upload it to PaT from the PaT menu, giving it a title and a site. All safe walks can then be found under Work Safety On-line (WSOL).
Steps
Introduction. Planned and unplanned safety walks are both important: they help you spot and deal with potential hazards early, for a safer work environment. A planned walk allows a thorough inspection, as a scheduled assessment. An unplanned walk is a chance to see real-time conditions and practices, which highlights risks that have been overlooked or are changing.
Step 1
Complete the safe walk form on paper. PaT lets you upload a manual form as a file. A manual form is simple and accessible: it needs no technology or special training to complete. It also gives a physical, paper record that is easy to review and store, which suits places where digital tools may not be practical.
Step 2
When the form is complete, upload it to PaT. Click the PaT menu: the round + button in the middle of the bar at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3
The menu's icons open in an arc above the button. Click the blue icon with an open folder, second from the right. When you point at it, its label reads Upload a manual Safe Walk. The Upload an H&S Safe Walk panel opens in the middle of the screen.
Step 4
In Enter the title of this Safe walk, at the top of the panel, type a title for the safe walk.
Step 5
Click Please select Site, under the title box, and choose the site from the drop-down list.
Step 6
Click Upload File, under the site, and upload the file of the completed form.
Step 7
Click Submit this Safe walk, the last button in the panel, to submit the safe walk.

Step 10
The section opens as a row of tiles. All safe walks are found under the Safe Walks tile, the third from the left, marked with a tick.
