Summary People who don't use PaT can still take part in a PaT chat by email. PaT sends them each chat message as a new email, with a link to the full conversation, and adds their email replies into the chat thread. Registered PaT users reply in the chat thread itself.
Steps
Step 1
Open the email from PaT. It holds one chat message: PaT sends a new email for each message, instead of building a never-ending email thread, so each email stays concise and specific. The sender's signature is at the bottom, followed by powered by PaT.
Step 2
To see the whole conversation, click View full message thread, under the message and above the sender's signature. The full chat thread opens. Each message shows who sent it and when, with the newest at the top.
Step 3
How you reply depends on whether you use PaT: - Registered PaT users reply within the chat thread itself, to get all the benefits of PaT chat. Type in the comment box, which has buttons for bold, underline and lists, a GIF button and a box under it for adding files, then click send comment. - Everyone else can reply without signing up to PaT: go back to the email and reply to it as you normally would. PaT adds your reply into the chat thread as a new message.
