Summary An evidential audit is added to a module in the Module Publisher. PaT assigns it automatically, with the student's supervisor as the assignor, and the student proves they can apply what they learned by uploading a photo of a completed job. In the module's audit window you choose the Evidential audit type, the auditor, when the audit triggers (every pass, or on a schedule), a pre-audit checklist and the instructions for the photo. The preview shows what the student sees.

Steps
Introduction. For stronger comprehension of modules, PaT highly recommends that module publishers also create a comprehension or evidential audit. These audits assess the practical application of the student's learning on the job.
Note. PaT assigns an evidential audit automatically, with the student's supervisor acting as the assignor. The audit requires the student to upload an image as evidence of a job completed, which demonstrates their comprehension.
Setting up the evidential audit
Step 1
With the module you want to add an evidential audit to open in the Module Publisher, click the audit button: the third of the icons below the PaT logo at the top left, a checklist with a person. The create/edit an audit window opens.
Step 2
In Audit Type, at the top left of the window, choose Evidential. The audit type is automatically set to a Comprehension audit, but you can also choose an Evidential Audit or a Notification Audit. The other two types are covered in the How to create module comprehension audits and Module Completion Notification Setup modules.
Step 3
In Auditor, to the right of Audit Type, choose who will be the auditor. It is set to Supervisor automatically, but you can also choose any staff member to be the auditor.
Step 4
In Audit Trigger, under Audit Type, choose when the audit will trigger. There are 2 options: - Every: every time the module test is passed. - Recurring: on a recurring basis, every so many days or months. Two more fields appear to the right of Audit Trigger: set the number in Audit and the unit, such as days, in Frequency.
Step 5
Add a checklist that helps the student prepare for the audit. Click the + at the top right of the Pre-Audit Checklist box, on the right of the window. The add a new checklist item box opens.
Step 6
Type the checklist item in the box, then click Done, to its right. The item appears in the Pre-Audit Checklist.
Step 7
Click in the Overview box, under Audit Trigger, and update the overview of the evidential audit. The box starts with a sample sentence. The overview is what instructs the student on what they need to upload an image of.
Step 8
Click Save, under the Pre-Audit Checklist.
Previewing what the student sees
Step 9
Click Preview (save first), to the right of Save. The Preview window opens, titled Please complete this Audit. It shows what the student will see.
Step 10
Under the Auditor and the Person to complete this Audit, the Overview gives the student the instructions on what they need to take an image of.
Step 11
Below the overview, the Pre-audit checklist lets the student prepare themselves.
Step 12
Below the checklist, the student clicks Take a Photo to take an image if they are on their mobile device, or Upload a file to upload an image from their device.
