Summary There are four ways to file and retrieve your SDs. Find any SD with Global Search. Dock the SDs you come back to daily or weekly, so they are one click away at the bottom of your screen. Add the SDs you come back to monthly to your favourites, under the intranet button. Or keep one master SD, a control document, that holds links to everything you file for yourself.

Steps
Introduction. This module shows four ways to file and retrieve your SDs: - Searching in Global Search - Docking SDs - Adding an SD to your favourites - Adding an SD's link to a control document
Finding an SD with Global Search
Step 1
To find an SD, click Global Search, the purple button at the top right of the screen. The Global Search panel opens on the right.
Step 2
Start typing the name of the SD in the Search ... box at the top of the panel.
Step 3
As you type, matching SDs are listed below the box. Click the SD you want. It opens in a new tab in your PaT workspace.
Step 4
The SD's tab sits in the row of tabs at the top left, next to Task Wall and Chat Wall. Click the tabs to switch between your task wall, your chat wall and the SD.
Docking an SD or adding it to your favourites
Step 5
If you are likely to come back to an SD daily or weekly, consider docking it to your profile. If you come back to it monthly, for example a monthly meeting SD, add it to your favourites instead. To do either, type the SD's name in Global Search.
Step 6
Each SD in the results has two buttons at its right: Dock and Fav. Click Fav to add the SD to your favourites, or Dock to dock it.
Step 7
To see your favourites, click the intranet button, the globe at the top left of the screen, just left of the Task Wall tab. The Intranet panel opens on the left.
Step 8
The SDs you added with Fav are listed under My Favourites in the panel.
Step 9
When you click Dock, the SD is docked in the row of round images at the bottom of the screen. From then on, you can open the SD by clicking its image. Note: the default image is the PaT logo, but you can change it. Docking SDs and Updating Images, under See also above, shows how.
Filing SD links in a control document
Step 10
A fourth way to file and retrieve your SDs is to keep one master SD that you use to file everything for yourself, for example a "Control Document". Open your control document.
Step 11
Drag a note into the control document: drag the pencil, the second of the purple buttons above the SD, and drop it into the SD.
Step 12
The New Note editor slides out on the right. Below its text box is a row of five small buttons. To add an SD link, click the third one, which has the same icon as the last purple button above the SD.
Step 13
The insert ... box opens on its SD Links tab. Type the SD's name in the Search ... box under Search for an SD.
Step 14
Click the SD you want in the list of matches.
Step 15
Click Add SD as a Link, just below the search box. The SD's name appears as a link in the note.
Step 16
Click Save, at the bottom left of the New Note editor.
Step 17
The SD link now sits in your control document. To open the SD, click the link.
