Summary Create a task from the round + button at the bottom of the screen. Choose who it is for, name it in up to 100 characters and set a deadline, then submit it, or open the advanced settings first. In the advanced settings you can add a longer description, cc other members, add a reminder, attach files, make the task recurring, set its priority and attach it to a parent SD.
Steps
Step 1
Click the round + button at the bottom centre of the screen. A fan of round icons opens above it.
Step 2
Click the tick box, the lowest icon on the left of the fan. The Create a Task panel opens.
Step 3
In Assign To, choose who the task is for. PaT automatically makes you the assignee, so leave your own name there to give the task to yourself.
Step 4
In Task, type the task's name. It can be up to 100 characters long, and the label shows how many characters are left. To give the task more context, use the advanced settings, from Step 7.
Step 5
Click the Deadline box to set when you want the task completed by. A calendar opens.
Step 6
Click the day, set the time in the hour and minute boxes at the top of the calendar, then click OK at the bottom.
Tip. If the task needs nothing more, click Submit now: it sits at the bottom left of the panel, next to Advanced.
Advanced settings
Step 7
Click Advanced, at the bottom right of the panel. The advanced settings open in the same panel.
Step 8
Add more context to the task in the large box under the formatting buttons. This box has no character limit.
Step 9
To cc other members into the task, click the members icon (three people) to the right of the name at the top of the panel.
Step 10
To add a reminder to the task, click the flag icon at the right end of the formatting buttons.
Step 11
To upload files that add more context, drag and drop them onto the Drop your file(s) here or click to add one! bar, or click the bar to browse your device.
Step 12
To make the task recurring, click the loop icon (two arrows) between the deadline and the priority box.
Step 13
Select a priority for the task in the box to the right of the loop icon: Low, Medium or High.
Step 14
To attach the task to a parent SD, choose it in select a Parent SD. The next time you open that SD, the task will be sitting at the top of it, so you can keep track of it there as well.
Step 15
When you are done, click Submit at the bottom right of the panel.
