Summary Your Task Wall shows the tasks assigned to you, in columns by when they are due. Open a task to see its details, comment on it or attach files. Then answer it in one of three ways: request to close it when it is done, reject it if it was assigned to you by mistake, or ask for a new deadline if you need more time. Each request colours the task's card on your Task Wall until the person who assigned the task approves or declines it.
Steps
Step 1
Click Task Wall at the top left of the page. Your tasks show as cards in columns by when they are due, from Overdue on the left to over 30 days on the right.
Step 2
Click the task you want to work on. Its panel opens on the right of the screen.
Step 3
The task's details are at the top of the panel: its title, the Assignor (the person who gave you the task) and the Deadline.
Step 4
To add the task to your BFF, click the green hand icon at the top right of the task's details.
Step 5
To copy the task's link (URL) to your clipboard, click the green share icon (an arrow coming out of a box) to the right of the hand icon.
Step 6
To comment on the task, click in the comment bar under the task's details, type your message and click Send Comment to the right of the bar. Your comment keeps the person who assigned the task up to date on your progress.
Step 7
To attach a file to the task, click the paperclip at the bottom right of the panel.
Step 8
To write a comment with formatting, click Adv. chat panel, the purple button at the bottom right of the panel, beside the paperclip. The advanced chat panel opens.
Step 9
Type your comment in the text box. To format it, use the purple buttons above the box: B for bold, U for underline, then bullet points and numbered points.
Step 10
To add a GIF to your comment, click GIF at the right end of the same row of buttons.
Step 11
To follow the chat thread, click the star at the top right of the advanced chat panel. The thread is then kept in the following folder on your Chat Wall.
Step 12
To add attachments to your comment, drag them onto the box under the text box that reads Drop your file(s) here or click to add one!, or click that box to browse your device.
Step 13
When your comment is ready, click send comment at the bottom right of the advanced chat panel. To close the panel without commenting, click the x at its top right, beside the star. You are back at the task's panel.
Completing or rejecting a task
Step 14
Three round buttons sit in the middle of the task's details: the red X rejects the task, the orange ? asks for a new deadline, and the green tick requests to close the task as complete. When the task is done, click the green tick.
Step 15
A box opens with the message RTC (Request to Close) already in it. Add more detail about the finished task if you wish, or leave the default message as it is. Then click PRESS TO COMPLETE under the box.
Step 16
The task's card on your Task Wall turns blue. Blue shows that you have requested to close the task, so you can track it at a glance.
Step 17
To reject a task, click it on your Task Wall. Its panel opens on the right.
Step 18
If the task was assigned to you by mistake and should go to someone else or to a different department, click the red X in the task's details.
Step 19
A box opens. Type why you are rejecting the task: you must give a reason. Then click PRESS TO REJECT THIS TASK under the box.
Step 20
The task's card on your Task Wall turns red, the colour for a rejected task.
Asking for more time
Step 21
To ask for more time on a task, click it on your Task Wall. Its panel opens on the right.
Step 22
If you haven't finished the task and need more time, click the orange ? in the task's details to request a postponement.
Step 23
A box opens. Type why you wish to postpone the task: you must give a reason. Then click the please select a new deadline date bar under the box.
Step 24
A calendar opens. Today's date is shown in red, and the date you select has a red box around it. Select the new date, then click OK at the bottom of the calendar.
Step 25
Click PRESS TO POSTPONE at the bottom of the box.
Step 26
The task's card on your Task Wall turns purple, the colour for a task with a postponement request.
Step 27
Blue, red and purple tasks stay on your Task Wall in their colours until the person who assigned them approves or declines your request. If they haven't answered by the time the task falls due, your Task Integrity % (at the top of the page, to the right of your photo) is not affected, because you made the request before the task was due.
How the assignor answers your requests
Step 28
Your requests reach the assignor as alerts: red counts on the icons at the top right of their page, just left of log out. To see requests to close, they click the green tick.
Step 29
The Pending Approval panel opens, listing the tasks waiting for approval, with the request's message on the right. On each task, the assignor clicks the tick to approve the request, or the thumbs-down to decline it.
Step 30
When the assignor approves, a box asks them to confirm that they wish to complete the task. They click OK, and the task is removed from your Task Wall.
Step 31
To see requests for a new deadline, the assignor clicks the orange ? at the top right of their page.
Step 32
The Negotiating Deadline panel opens. Each request shows its Proposed date, and the comment you left shows on the right. When the assignor approves with the thumbs-up, the task moves on your Task Wall to the new due date.
Step 33
To see rejected tasks, the assignor clicks the red X at the top right of their page. The Rejected panel opens, with your reason on the right.
Step 34
The assignor still has to approve or reject every request, including a rejection. If they don't believe your rejection is valid, they can reject it. If they approve it, the task is removed from your Task Wall.
Step 35
Once the assignor has answered, your Task Wall shows the result: the completed task and the rejected task have been removed, and the postponed task has moved to its new due date.
