Summary Dock a chat you use often, and the person's picture sits in the bar at the bottom of your screen. Click the picture to open the chat as a pop-up chat thread. The pop-up's menu lets you refresh comments, mute or unmute the chat, rename it, or pop it out into its own browser window. To take a chat off your dock, hover over the picture and click Release Dock.

Steps

Step 1

Docking suits a chat you use regularly. On the Chat Wall, open the chat you want to dock. Its message box opens in the middle of the screen, and its messages on the right.

Step 2

At the top right of the message box, click the downward arrow in a grey circle, next to the star.

Step 3

The person's picture appears in the bar at the bottom of the screen, to the left of the round +. This is your dock, and the picture shows that the chat is docked.

Step 4

Click the picture in your dock. The chat opens as a pop-up chat thread at the top left of the screen, with a box to type in and a Send Comment button at the top.

Releasing a chat from your dock

Step 5

To take the chat off your dock, hover over the person's picture in the dock. In the small menu that appears above it, click Release Dock.

Step 6

For more options, open the chat from your dock and click the menu icon (three sliders) at the top left of the pop-up, to the left of the message box. The docked chat menu opens.

Step 7

Refresh Comments refreshes the chat's comments, Mute / UnMute mutes or unmutes the chat, and Rename Chat renames it.

Step 8

Pop out into browser window opens the docked chat in a separate browser window. This helps when you want to keep one or more chats open through the day, where you can find them easily and keep the conversation going.

Step 9

At the bottom of the menu, Exit and undock Chat exits the chat and undocks it, and Close menu closes the menu.
