Summary Each SD can have one dashboard, built in SD Dashboard with the same builder as SD forms. Its charts, tables and figures take their data from endpoints made in the SD Endpoint Manager.
Steps
Step 1
Open the SD and click its Advanced tab. In the menu on the left, under PaT BI, click SD Dashboard. You need to be one of the SD's owners, assignors, assignees or authors to open the Advanced tab.
Step 2
The dashboard builder opens. It's the same builder as SD forms, with the controls on the left and the Canvas on the right. Each SD has one dashboard, and a new one shows "Start Building Your Form".
Step 3
On the Controls tab, choose a group: Reporting, Layouts or Date & Time. Use Previous and Next to page through its controls.
Step 4
Reporting has the charts and figures: Single Value Display, Radial Chart, Table grid, Banner, Vertical Spacer, Video, Dropdown (Single selection), Line Chart, Bar Chart, Stacked Bar Chart, Pie Chart, Pie Chart 3D, Multi Axis Line Chart, Mixed Type Chart, Vertical Combined Chart and Data Scene. Layouts holds a Container for grouping controls, and Date & Time holds a Date Selector, a Date Range Selector and a Time Viewer.
Step 5
Drag a control onto the canvas.
Step 6
Each control on the canvas has a toolbar: Move, Edit, Duplicate and Remove. Its link icon names the endpoint it uses; click the icon to preview the data.
Step 7
Click Edit. The "Edit form field" window opens, with tabs from General to Conditional Formatting.
Step 8
On the General tab, connect the control to its data: set Data Mode to "Endpoint pulled from a data source", then choose the Endpoint. Endpoints are made in the SD Endpoint Manager (see the Endpoint Manager modules).
Step 9
Totals, averages and counts come from the endpoint, not from the control, so set them up in the Endpoint Manager.
Step 10
For a table, the General tab also sets the number of records per page and the width, and whether people can resize or drag columns, download to CSV, search, and filter by column. On the Default Value tab, drag the columns into the order everyone sees.
Step 11
For a chart, choose the X Axis Column, then the columns to plot, each with its Y axis (left or right), graph type (line or bar) and colour.
Step 12
To let people filter the dashboard, add a Date Range Selector or a dropdown, then map it to the endpoint on the Flexi Filtering tab of each control it should filter.
Step 13
Click Save & Close to keep the control's changes; they're saved straight away. Close leaves the control as it was.
Step 14
Remove, Duplicate and moving a control are also saved straight away. Remove doesn't ask first.
Step 15
Adding a new control, resizing one, and changes in Settings or Reorder are only kept when you click Save Form Now at the top of the canvas. If you leave the dashboard before that, they're lost without a warning.
Step 16
Settings, at the top, sets the dashboard's title and secondary title. Under Dashboard View Navigator, Auto Rotate Dashboard Views moves from view to view by itself, every Rotation Interval (seconds).
Step 17
Manage Views ("Manage Dashboard Views") adds more pages to the dashboard: click Add View, then Save Configuration. People move between views with the arrows at the top of the dashboard.
Step 18
Preview shows the finished dashboard. When people view it, Export Dashboard (the download icon at the top right) saves it as a PDF or an image.
