Summary A pure form is a form you build in the form builder and send out to people as a link. Before you share it, preview it to see how it will look on desktop, tablet and mobile. The link can be used once, such as for a survey, or many times, such as for repeated inspections. Each time someone fills out the form, their answers are saved as a new record in the form's results, which are connected to its SD.
Steps
Step 1
Open the form in the SD Form Builder (in the menu on the left of the screen). The form is shown on the Canvas, and three buttons sit at the top left, above the Controls tab: Fields, Preview and Share.
Step 2
To see exactly what the finished form will look like, click Preview, the green button between Fields and Share. The Preview (Emulated Size) panel opens. It shows what your user will actually see when they click the link you send them.
Step 3
Use the row of device icons near the top of the panel, above the form, to switch between mobile, tablet and desktop, and check how the form will look on each kind of device. When you have finished, click Close at the top right of the panel.
Sharing the form
Step 4
When you are ready to send the form out, click Share, the blue button to the right of Preview. A share box opens, titled Share followed by the form's name.
Step 5
Under General Access, the box shows Anyone with the link: anyone on the internet with the link can fill in the form. In the dropdown at the right of it, choose the kind of link: - Single Submit: a link for single use only, such as a survey. - Multiple Submits: a link that allows multiple uses, such as for an inspection of multiple assets.
Step 6
Click Copy Link at the bottom of the box. PaT puts a copy of the form link on your clipboard, ready to paste into a PaT chat or an email to send the form out. Click Done, at the bottom right of the box, when you have finished.
When the form is filled out
Step 7
To check what people will see, paste the link into a separate browser tab. The form opens on a page of its own, ready to fill in, with a Submit button at the bottom left.
Step 8
When someone fills out the form and clicks Submit, the data they entered is automatically inserted as a new record in the form's datasource (similar to a spreadsheet), which is connected to the form's SD. The SD Form Responses: finding and exporting form responses module covers finding these records.
