Summary Your BFF (Best Friend Forever) is an SD that collects the emails you forward into PaT. Once it is set up, an email you send to bff@yourorg from one of your own email addresses arrives in your BFF as a note, with its attachments. From there you can view and download the attachments, and move the note to any other SD to store or action it.
Steps
Step 1
To set up your BFF, click your profile picture, at the top centre of the screen. Your profile opens.
Step 2
Click contact info, in the row of tabs along the top of your profile.
Step 3
Click Email, the last heading in the row under the tabs. The email addresses linked to your profile are listed, each with its Email Type, such as Work or Personal.
Step 4
Make sure these email addresses are correct. PaT uses them to identify your emails and assign them to your BFF. You can list more than one, for example a work and a personal address.
Step 5
Click system, the last tab in the row along the top.
Step 6
Click the Sd for Emails Forwarded to Bff@yourorg dropdown, on the left of the page under Open FormWall at startup.
Step 7
Choose the SD you want to use as your BFF. From then on, an email sent to bff@yourorg from one of the email addresses on your profile is assigned to this SD.
Step 8
Click Submit, under the dropdown.
Sending an email to your BFF
Step 9
From one of the email addresses on your profile, send or forward any email to bff@yourorg, where yourorg is your organisation's email domain.
Step 10
Open your BFF SD. The email can take up to 20 seconds to arrive. A notification then appears in the bottom left corner of the screen, and the SD refreshes by itself.
Step 11
PaT picks the email up from Outlook Exchange and adds it to your BFF as a note. The email's subject line is the note's heading.
Step 12
At the right end of the note's row, red numbers on the speech bubble and the paperclip show the note's comments and its attachment. An attachment can arrive a few seconds after the comment, usually within 15 seconds.
Step 13
The note's comments hold the text of the email, plus a separate comment saying that the attachment is now available to view on the note.
Step 14
To open the attachment, click the paperclip on the note's row. The attachments icon in the note's comments opens it too.
Step 15
From there, you can download the attachment to your device.
Moving the note to another SD
Step 16
On the note's row, click edit, the small grey button just left of the note's heading. The Edit Note panel opens on the right.
Step 17

Step 18
From Select a new Parent SD, choose the SD the note should go to.
Step 19
Click Save, under the dropdown. PaT moves the note from your BFF to that SD.
Step 20
Open that SD: the note is there, with its comments and attachment.
Result. Emails you forward to bff@yourorg arrive in your BFF as notes, with their attachments, ready to move to the right SD, store or action in PaT.
