Summary Use PaT safely on a computer that several people share, such as in a warehouse. Leave remember me unticked when you log in, and choose Never when Chrome offers to save the password. Only one PaT session can be open in a browser, so the previous user's session closes with a duplicate-session message. If a password was saved by mistake, you can delete it in Chrome's Google Password Manager.
Steps
Step 1
Sometimes several people need to log in to PaT from the same device: for example, in a warehouse where different users log in throughout the day, or on a shared office computer. PaT has specific protective measures to keep these situations secure, and the steps below show how to use them.
Logging in on a shared device
Step 2
On the PaT login page, enter your email and password. Always make sure the remember me tick box, below the log in button and to the right of forgot your password?, is NOT ticked.
Step 3
Click log in, the green button below the password box.
Step 4
When Chrome asks whether to save your password for this site, always click Never, to the right of Save.
Step 5
PaT opens on the device, logged in as you.
Step 6
If another user was already logged in to PaT in a different tab on the same device, their session logs out automatically, with a "PaT Duplicate" message: the title of their tab changes to Pat Duplicate.
Step 7
The logged-out tab shows SORRY and the message "Pat has detected a duplicate session open in this browser."
Deleting a saved PaT password
Step 8
To delete a saved PaT password, for example if someone clicked Save by mistake, open Google Password Manager from Chrome's settings menu: click the three dots at the top right of Chrome, then Passwords and Autofill, then Google Password Manager.
Step 9
Type peopleandtasks in the search bar at the top of Google Password Manager.
Step 10
In the Passwords list, click the arrow at the right end of the peopleandtasks.com row. The saved PaT logins open, each on its own card.
Step 11
On the saved login's card, click Delete, the second button at the card's bottom left, next to Edit. The saved password is removed.
Result. With these measures, several people can use PaT securely on the same device, and duplicate sessions are prevented.
