Summary The pop-out chat feature lets you stay connected with your colleagues throughout the day, without interrupting your workflow. Open a docked chat, open its chat menu and select Pop out into browser window. The conversation moves out of the PaT app into a separate browser tab, in a small window of its own, so you can keep chatting while you work through SDs, tasks and everything else.

Steps

Step 1

Find your docked chats: the pictures of people in the bar at the bottom of the screen, to the left of the round +. A chat with someone you chat with most days is worth docking, as it stays pinned there for easy access.

Step 2

Click the picture of the person you want to chat with. Your chat with them opens as a pop-up at the top left of the screen.

Step 3

You can carry on chatting with them directly within the PaT app, using the box and the Send Comment button at the top of the pop-up. To pop the chat out instead, click the chat menu button (three sliders), to the left of the box.

Step 4

The chat menu opens. Select Pop out into browser window, the third option.

Step 5

The conversation opens in a separate browser tab, in a small window of its own, so you can keep chatting without disrupting your main workspace.

Popping out another chat

Step 6

To pop out another docked chat, click that person's picture in the bar at the bottom of the screen. Their chat opens as a pop-up.

Step 7

Click the chat menu button (three sliders) at the top left of the pop-up.

Step 8

Select Pop out into browser window.

Step 9

Both chats are now popped out of the app, each in its own window, so you can chat with both people all day.

Result. You can keep your conversations going while you work through SDs, tasks and everything else, without breaking your flow. Your thinking space and your communication stay in sync: no disruption, just momentum.
