Summary PaT AI helps you improve text you've written in a chat's comment box. You can ask it in your own words with the AI button, or highlight text and choose an option such as improving the writing, changing the tone or translating it. You can retry until you're happy, then replace the original. The cog shows the prompt PaT AI is using so you can adjust it, and there are options for concise or verbose answers and for creating images.

Steps

Step 1

Write your text in the comment box of a chat, for example an SD's note chat.

Step 2

There are two ways to ask PaT AI to work on your text. The first is the AI button at the top right of the comment box, to the right of GIF. Click it. A question box opens at the top of the chat panel on the right, with an Ask button.

Step 3

In that box, type what you would like PaT AI to do, followed by the text it applies to. For example, type "Can you please improve this writing?" and then copy and paste in the paragraph.

Step 4

Click Ask. PaT AI's answer appears in the chat panel, in a purple bubble above your question. For a request to improve writing, it is a reworded version of the text with enhanced writing.

Step 5

To use the new version, copy it and paste it over the original text in the comment box.

Step 6

The improved text aims to be grammatically correct, with well-structured sentences and correct spelling. The panel also warns that AI can provide inaccurate responses.

Highlighting text

Step 7

The second way is to highlight the text you want to work on in the comment box. A small Ask Pat Ai to button appears above it. Note. You don't have to highlight the entire paragraph. It can be part of a paragraph, a sentence, or even just a word.

Step 8

Click Ask Pat Ai to. A menu opens with options to alter the text, its tone or style, or even translate it: Summarize text, Improve writing, Simplify language, Expand upon, Trim text, Alter tone, Alter Style and Translate language. Choose one, for example Improve writing.

Step 9

The new, improved writing appears in the chat panel, above your highlighted text and the system prompt PaT AI used.

Step 10

Under the new version are two buttons. Replace puts it in place of your original text in the comment box. Retry asks PaT AI for another version if you're not satisfied. Your original text stays as it is until you click Replace.

Step 11

Click Retry until you're happy with the version, then click Replace to update the text.

Step 12

The new paragraph now takes the place of the text you highlighted, in the comment box.

The prompt and the response options

Step 13

After a request such as Improve writing, PaT AI is set to that kind of request. To see the prompt it is using, click the cog icon below the question box, to the left of "AI can provide inaccurate responses".

Step 14

An Additional system prompt box opens, showing the detailed prompt PaT AI is currently using, based on your last request. After Improve writing, it begins "Rewrite with no spelling mistakes, proper grammar". You can adjust the prompt if needed to better suit your requirements. The preconfigured prompts will likely handle 80% of your needs; for the remaining 20%, this gives you the flexibility to customise as needed.

Step 15

To the right of the prompt are three options: concise responses, verbose responses, and image.

Creating an image

Step 16

To create an image, select image.

Step 17

In the question box, type the kind of image you would like, then click Ask. The image appears in the chat panel.

Step 18

If you're not happy with the image, click Retry under it until you are.

Tip. There's much more you can do with PaT AI. How you communicate matters: people judge your writing ability, which affects your credibility and even your income. Use PaT AI alongside the C2E feature to get AI-assisted writing when you communicate with external parties. You can also use its prompts to brainstorm ideas, for example for staff parties, conflict resolution strategies or managing disputes with team members, or to draft thank-you letters for customers, staff and subordinates.

Note. AI is transforming the world. Those who learn to use it will have a competitive edge in the job market, and employees who embrace AI will earn more than those who don't. Experiment, explore, and have fun with it.
