Summary Once you have a UDF, you can shape its columns: put them in order, hide the ones you don't need, set each column's data type, and add calculated columns that work something out from other columns, such as {price} * {quantity}. Changes stay unsaved until you click Apply to Data.
Steps
Step 1
In the Endpoint Manager, find your UDF (search for "UDF:") and click 🚀 Edit Endpoint.
Step 2
"Configure Data Source" opens. The left side previews the data; the right side has the tabs Endpoint, Columns, Query Builder, Summary and Schema, plus an AI Assistant.
Step 3
Click the Columns tab, then expand Column Order & Visibility. Drag columns to change their order, and click a column's eye icon to hide or show it. You can also use Show / Hide Columns above the preview.
Step 4
Click a column (in that list, or its header in the preview) to configure it, for example its Data Type: Text, Number, Boolean, Date, Date & Time or JSON Object.
Step 5
Note: hiding a column hides it on every grid that uses this data source.
Step 6
To add a calculated column, click Add New Calculation Column. It's added as "New Column", type Number, and marked Calculated.
Step 7
Give it a name under Basic Settings, Display Title.
Step 8
Under Expression Builder, click Edit Expression to open the Calculation Builder.
Step 9
Build the formula in Expression. Refer to other columns as {field name}, and use the operators + - * / ( ). Pick fields from Available Fields rather than typing their names. Examples: {price} * {quantity}, or SPLIT({Queue Name}, '|', 2) to keep the second part of a text value.
Step 10
Click Save Expression.
Step 11
While you have unsaved changes the preview is paused ("Unsaved Changes", "Data Fetch Blocked"). Click Apply to Data (or Ctrl+S) to save and refresh the data.
Step 12
Good to know: sorting and grouping are turned off for calculated columns, to protect database performance. Using SPLIT makes the column Text. A formula can use other calculated columns, but not itself. Dividing by zero gives a blank.
