Summary Drag a new section header into place in an SD, then customise it: add an icon from the icon library, type its title and make the font larger. The indent controls nest a section header beneath another one, so sections sit in a hierarchy. Nested sections can be collapsed and expanded, to keep the SD organised and visually clean.
Steps
Introduction. Adding an icon to a section header helps readers quickly understand its topic at a glance. Indenting sections under a section header groups related information neatly, and you can collapse those sections to save space and keep your SD clean and organised.
Step 1
Open the SD. In the row of purple buttons above its section headers, click and hold the Section Header icon: the first from the left, a numbered list. Drag it into the SD.
Step 2
Let go where the new section header should go, for example just below the SD's last section header. A new, empty row appears there.
Step 3
The New Section Header panel slides out on the right of the screen.
Adding an icon and a title
Step 4
To add an icon, click the icon button: the first of the five light purple buttons under the panel's text box, a picture in a circle. An icon helps users see what a section header is about. The insert ... box opens, on its Icon tab.
Step 5
Under Select an icon, click the small drop-down arrow just right of the icon shown. The list of icons opens.
Step 6
Click the icon you'd like to use. There are 41 pages of icons, both coloured and black-and-white; the arrows at the bottom right of the list move between the pages. If the SD already uses coloured icons, choose a coloured one to keep the style consistent.
Step 7
Click Add Icon, the wide button under the icon. The icon appears in the panel's text box.
Step 8
Type the section header's title in the text box, next to the icon.
Step 9
To make the title stand out, increase its font size. First highlight the title's text.
Step 10
Click the font size drop-down list, the third list at the top of the panel, and select 5 (18pt).
Step 11
Click Save, at the bottom left of the panel. The panel closes, and the new section header shows in the SD with its icon and title. Keep its icon and text size matching the SD's other section headers, for consistency.
Nesting and collapsing
Step 12
To nest the new section header beneath the one above it, click the Indent button on its row: the right-pointing arrow just right of the green dot. The row moves one level to the right.
Step 13
The section header is now indented under the one above it. To collapse that parent section header and hide everything beneath it, click the up arrow at the far left of the parent's row.
Step 14
Everything beneath the parent section header is now hidden, and its arrow points down. To show the nested section header again, click that down arrow. The parent section header expands.
