Summary An evidential audit checks that you can apply what a module taught you on the job. If a module has one, PaT assigns it to you automatically when you complete the module's quiz, with your supervisor as the assignor, due 7 days later. You upload an image as evidence of a job completed, then request to close the audit. Your supervisor reviews your evidence. If you fail the audit, you are decertified and must resit the module.

Steps
Introduction. For stronger comprehension of modules, PaT highly recommends that module publishers also create a comprehension or evidential audit. These audits assess how well the student applies what they have learned on the job.
When it is assigned. If a module includes an evidential audit, the student is assigned it as a task when they complete the module's quiz, with a due date 7 days later.
What it asks for. PaT assigns the evidential audit automatically, with the student's supervisor as the assignor. The audit asks the student to upload an image as evidence of a job completed, which demonstrates their comprehension.
Examples. A student might be asked for evidence of a licence, a standard of work that has been completed, a letter they wrote, their uniform presentation, a tool belt or a checklist.
Opening your audit
Step 1
After you complete the quiz of a module with an evidential audit, the audit appears as a task on your Task Wall, in the 7 days column. Its title starts "Please complete this Evidential AUDIT:", followed by the module's name. Click the task. Its panel opens on the right of the screen.
Step 2
In the task's details, click the blue i (information) button, to the right of the orange ?. The Please complete this Audit box opens.
Step 3
Read the Overview (press it for more detail) and the Pre-audit checklist: together they say what evidence the audit needs. For example, the audit for the module on creating a Bulletin Board (BB) post asks for evidence of a BB post you created.
Step 4
Close the box with the x at its top right, and go and get your evidence.
Getting and uploading your evidence
Step 5
Get the evidence on your phone or your computer. For the BB post audit on a computer, open the Bulletin Board with the green Bulletin Board (BB) tab on the right edge of the screen.
Step 6
Take an image of the evidence: for the BB post audit, a screen capture of your post. Then close the Bulletin Board with Close at its top left.
Step 7
Go back to the evidential audit's Please complete this Audit box and click Upload a file, under the Overview.
Step 8
A file window opens. Click the upload icon, a cloud with an arrow pointing up, at the right end of the row. (The cloud with an arrow pointing down downloads files from PaT to your PC.)
Step 9
The Select File window opens. Click the box under File:, which reads Click button to select file..., and choose your image.
Step 10
The file appears in the row, with its name and type. Click the save icon (a floppy disk) at the left end of the row to save it.
Step 11
Close the file window with the x at its top right.
Requesting to close the audit
Step 12
Back in the Please complete this Audit box, click COMPLETED at the bottom. A box headed PLEASE DETAIL WHY YOU WISH TO CLOSE THIS TASK opens, with RTC (Request to Close) already filled in.
Step 13
Click PRESS TO COMPLETE. As the note above it says, this action closes all escalating tasks for this task. Your request to close then shows as a comment in the task's panel.
Step 14
Your supervisor then receives a request to close the evidential audit. They review your uploaded file to make sure you have submitted the correct evidence and have understood the module.
Note. If you fail the evidential audit, you are decertified and need to resit the module, which triggers the audit again.
