Summary Docking an SD you open every day puts it in your dock, along the bottom of the screen, for rapid access. SDs you use weekly or monthly are better kept in your favourites. You find the SD in Global Search and click Dock, and it appears in your dock with the PaT logo. To make it easy to recognise, you download a free icon, for example from Flaticon, which is saved under Shared Links in the PaT Intranet. Then you hover over the docked SD, choose Update Image and upload the icon.
Steps
Introduction. Your dock is the row of icons along the bottom of the screen. Each SD you dock appears there, so you can open it rapidly. By default, every docked SD shows the same standard PaT logo, so several docked SDs look alike.
Note. Giving each docked SD its own image, such as a calendar, a to-do list or a folder, helps you instantly recognise and open the one you want.
Step 1
Choose which SDs to dock. Docking is useful for SDs that you access daily. SDs that you access weekly or monthly are better off stored in your favourites.
Step 2
To find the SD you want to dock, click Global Search, the purple button at the top right of the screen. The Global Search panel opens on the right.
Step 3
In the search box at the top of the panel, start typing the SD's name. PaT shows a drop-down list of suggestions. Next to the SD you want, click Dock. To add an SD to your favourites instead, click Fav, under Dock.
Step 4
The SD opens and appears in your dock, at the bottom of the screen. By default, it shows the standard PaT logo. It is best to update this to a more meaningful image, as the next steps show.

Step 5
A good site for images is flaticon.com, which offers millions of free icons and graphics. A link to it is saved in the PaT Intranet, under Shared Links, so you can open it without leaving PaT. To open the Intranet, click the globe icon at the top left of the screen, just left of the Task Wall tab. The Intranet panel opens on the left.
Step 6
In the Intranet panel, click Shared Links to expand it.
Step 7
Under Shared Links, click Apps (useful) to expand it.
Step 8
Under Apps (useful), click Flat Icon. Flaticon opens in a new tab within PaT. Occasionally, it may open a Photoshop subscription page instead: simply close that tab. You do not need to pay for any images.
Step 9
In the search box in the middle of the Flaticon page, search for an icon that suits the SD. For example, for an SD about forms, search for a form icon.
Step 10
Find the icon you want. Click the green download button at the icon's top right, then click PNG.
Step 11
In the box that opens, click Free download, the green button on the right. The box notes that a free download means you must attribute the author.
Step 12
In your dock at the bottom of the screen, hover over the SD's PaT logo. A small menu opens, with Release Dock, Update Image and Update Title. Click Update Image.
Step 13
The Upload new Docked App Image box opens above the dock. Click the box in it that reads Drop your file(s) here or click to add one!, then browse your device and select the image you downloaded. The image updates automatically.
Step 14
Check your dock: the SD now shows its new image instead of the PaT logo.
