Summary Your learning modules are listed in your learning panel. On a desktop you open the panel, read each module you have to sit, then sit its multiple-choice test. While you read, you can ask a question or leave feedback in the module's chat. If you fail a test, PaT tells you which questions you got wrong, and you get another chance.
Steps
Introduction. PaT includes an integrated module publisher, designed to capture and manage the organisation's intellectual property. Module content is typically created by members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) or Executive Leadership Team (ELT). You are tested on a written module with an online quiz, which you can sit on a desktop PC, laptop, tablet or mobile phone. These steps use a desktop.
Step 1
Check your certification percentage, at the top centre of the screen, just left of your profile photo. If it is not at 100%, you have modules to sit.
Step 2
Click the certification percentage. Your learning panel, my eLearning, opens on the left side of the screen. You can also open it by clicking the Learning tab on the left edge of the screen.
Step 3
The purple Sit bar in the panel shows how many modules you have to sit to bring your certification up to 100%. Those modules are listed below it.
Reading a module
Step 4
To read a module, click the document icon (a page) to the right of its name.
Step 5
The module opens in the main part of the screen for you to read and learn. Its content is laid out as an SD, which has many benefits over a traditional PDF.
Step 6
Work through the content at your own pace, expanding and collapsing the section headers as you go. This lets you take in the information in bite-sized chunks.
Step 7
To ask a question or leave a comment or feedback, click the chat icon (a speech bubble) at the right end of the row it is about. The more people use this, the greater the organisation's ability to learn together: a powerful learning tool not commonly seen in an LMS.
Note. Module SDs unlock collaborative learning in two ways: - Historical answer archive: a question one student asks has often been answered already. Later learners with a similar question can view these chats and find the answer, so the chats become a continuously updated store of knowledge. - Continuous author connectivity: a module's SD always stays connected to an owner. If its author leaves the organisation, PaT automatically assigns a new owner, so the SD is never orphaned and questions in its chat always reach an active owner.
Sitting the test
Step 8
When you have read and understood the module, sit its test: in your learning panel, click the question mark icon at the right end of the module's entry, just right of the document icon.
Step 9
The quiz opens in a window in the middle of the screen and takes you through a series of multiple-choice questions, with the question number at the top. Click the answer you believe is correct, then click Next Question > at the bottom of the window.
Step 10
After the last question, click Next Question > again. PaT then tells you whether you passed. If you failed, it also tells you which questions you got wrong.
Step 11
If you passed, the window shows SUCCESS at the top and Congratulations! in the middle.
Step 12
If you failed, don't worry: you get another chance. Note the questions you got wrong (PaT tells you which), go back to the module and study it again, then sit the test again when you're ready. If you fail a second time, you are locked out of the module and need to contact your supervisor to ask for it to be unlocked. Your supervisor will also help if you need further assistance.
