Summary Global Search finds the SDs, templates, modules and documents you're part of. Suggestions appear as you type, and you can open an item or add it to your Dock or Favourites. You can change what the search covers, and see your recently opened, most active and recently created documents.
Steps
Introduction. Global Search is a centralised space where you can effortlessly find the Strategy Documents (SDs), templates and modules you are associated with. Because it is so convenient and comprehensive, you will find yourself using it regularly.
Step 1
Click Global Search, the purple button at the top right of the screen. The Global Search panel opens on the right.
Step 2
Start typing in the Search ... box at the top of the panel. As you begin typing, PaT's built-in search engine displays a drop-down list of suggestions that match what you are looking for.
Step 3
Each suggestion contains the text you typed, and shows the item's name with its type (such as SD - Current) under it. Note: PaT can only suggest SDs you are included in as a member, as they are all you can access.
Step 4
The suggestions are also where you can add SDs to your Dock or Favourites: click Dock or Fav, the two buttons at the right of the SD's suggestion.
Step 5
When you find the item you want, click its name. PaT opens it in a new tab within PaT.
Choosing what the search covers
Step 6
Under the search box are the options for what the search covers. By default the search is set to Default, and the options the default covers are highlighted: SD - Current, Modules and Doc Store.
Step 7
To search only current SDs, click SD - Current. The search switches from the default to current SDs only.
Step 8
Or select All, under Default, and the search includes all the options.
Your recent, active and new documents
Step 9
Below the options, under my Strategy Docs, most recent lists the documents you opened most recently, with when you viewed each one. It is helpful for quickly getting back to an SD you were just viewing.
Step 10
Click most active, next to most recent, to see the most active documents you are part of. PaT shows how many views each has had in the past 30 days.
Step 11
Click last created, the third of these buttons, to see the documents that you last created.
Step 12
To filter by templates or by SDs, click Templates or SDs, just under my Strategy Docs.
Step 13
Lastly, How To, to the right of SDs, is a guide that provides training and helpful tips on how to use Global Search.
